Bronchitis symptoms can be a lower respiratory tract disease in which the mucous membranes of the airways, small airways connecting the windpipe and lungs, become inflamed as a result of infection or injury. There's two types of bronchitis, called acute and chronic bronchitis, each having a specific pattern from the causes and symptoms. Common indications of both types of bronchitis, coughing and difficulty breathing, other symptoms of bronchitis is usually caused by bacterial or viral infection, and such cases are more common during winter months. Bacteria that induce bronchitis include Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and viruses such as influenza A and B may also cause bronchitis. When viruses and bacteria cause bronchitis, growth and development of the condition often associated with an upper respiratory infection for example colds or flu.

Generally, acute bronchitis the result of a virus or infection. Symptoms of acute bronchitis include dry cough that produces mucus and a runny nose and sore throat, congested nasal passages and fever. These symptoms of bronchitis develops due to the body's efforts to eliminate the invading pathogen and eliminate mucus that accumulates in the lungs. Decongestants, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, expectorants, and is also often used to treat acute signs of bronchitis.

Not all cases of bronchitis caused by infectious organisms. Some instances may be caused by inhalation of dust, smoke and chemicals that irritate the airways and cause inflammation. Inhalation of irritants including chemicals and tobacco smoke are more likely to cause chronic as opposed to acute bronchitis.

The signs of chronic bronchitis differ materially from those acute bronchitis. In chronic disease, including symptoms of bronchitis, coughing, wheezing and difficulty breathing without nasal congestion and fever caused by the acute form. These symptoms worsen with exertion. Many individuals with chronic bronchitis find his cough is worse in the morning, with mucus which is green or yellow. If enough damage is done to the lungs the blood coughed on top of mucus.

bronchitis treatment - Most signs of chronic bronchitis is because of damage to the sensitive lung tissue. Because the bronchi suffer repeated bouts of injury, they become chronically inflamed and swollen, which cells produce more mucus. As a result, increased mucus production and swelling, air passageways are blocked, which makes breathing difficult. These signs of bronchitis can be treated with corticosteroids and bronchodilators, which reduce inflammation and widen the airways, making breathing easier.
